Chearoco is an imposing mountain located in the Andes mountain range of Bolivia. This majestic summit challenges the boldest adventurers. Climbing Chearoco is a challenge that requires skill and endurance, but the panoramic views and the sense of achievement upon reaching the summit make every step worthwhile. We depart from La Paz after a hearty breakfast and head towards Rinconada or the Chachacomani base camp at an altitude of 15,420 feet above sea leve17,060 feet above sea levell. It takes approximately 3 to 4 hours by car to reach Rinconada, and with the help of mules, we hike to the base camp where we set up our camp, approximately 4 to 5 hours of hiking. There, we admire the base camp and all the surrounding mountains.

On this day, we leave at 10 am, always ensuring a good meal prepared by our cooks. Continuing with the program, we head to the high camp of Chachacomani, approximately 2 to 3 hours of hiking to reach an altitude of 17,060 feet above sea level, where we rest and have dinner.

Today is a very special day as we start early in the morning to summit Chachacomani at an altitude of 19,931 feet above sea level, followed by a 7 to 8-hour ascent to the summit and a 4 to 5-hour descent back to the base camp, where we will have dinner and rest to recover our energy.

Every day is different, on this day we wake up, have breakfast, and break camp to descend to Rinconada where the car picks us up, approximately 3 hours downhill.

Then the car takes us to a refuge in the town of Peñas where our cooks attend to the staff, and we sleep in a hostel.

We will start the day with breakfast, prepare the equipment, dry it, and take the day to acclimatize, rest, and take walks around because Peñas has a lot to offer.

And we rest in the same hostel.

On this day, we set off for the second phase of the trip, which is CHEROKO at 20,102 feet above sea level.

But as everything must start from the beginning, we leave Peñas heading to Rinconada Cheroko, about 2 to 3 hours by car, where we meet the muleteers and mules that will help us approach the base camp at 4,750 meters above sea level. It takes at least 4 to 5 hours of hiking to reach the base camp and set up camp and rest in a beautiful valley.

It’s a very calm day, where we have breakfast and go to the high camp with the help of the porters to ensure success in the summit. It takes at least 2 to 3 hours to reach the high camp, where we arrive at the base of the glacier and rest while appreciating the spectacle that this mountain range offers. Finally, we sleep in tents.

We will depart very early (talk to the guides). It takes approximately 7 to 8 hours of ascent to the summit, and then we descend to the base camp in about 5 hours. Frequently Asked Questions

No previous mountain climbing experience is necessary. With good communication and a suitable program, anyone can engage in mountain climbing. However, prior experience can be beneficial.

Cardiovascular training is required, such as running, walking, cycling, and swimming, along with good acclimatization.
